Weekend blues on 17 August 2008 , 8:57 PM

The emotion ritcher scale was on a high this weekend.

Why must there be so much pressure to perform well?
If only things were just so easy to accomplish.

Just like how Michael Phelps made it to the record books with 8 golds in 1 Olympic run.
Awesome.
Performing so well under all the pressure and expectations laid upon him.
From the media, his family and just about everyone else around the world.

We all think that getting 8 medals would seem impossible, only to come close to believing wholly as Phelps edged closer and closer yet after every event.

Although everyone recognises this feat, not all will realise the amazing level of difficulty and odds stacked upon Phelps.
But he did it.
It's just so amazing!

I have realised that many people face challenges and these challenges will pose as problems.
Problems that they can either grow stronger from or crumble under.

Just as I'm logging these precious thoughts, my mother is urging me to get my clothes ironed.
Unnecessary pressure!
I have school tomorrow and I know I will iron the clothes.
But through all the pressure upon me, I may just forget about ironing as I try to end the initial task (of blogging) quickly.

Why all the excruciating pressure and additional stress?
Are they necessary in the first place?

I don't think I am ready for competition.

Haircut! on 11 August 2008 , 2:02 PM
:c

I have lost quite a portion of my hair (on the head lah).
It's been cut and I have lost my mane!

Boohoo.

Okay it isn't that bad.
But I am certainly shaving all of it during the Preliminary examinations and again during the Ordinary Level examinations.

It's good to be short!

I have to go now.
Did some homework this morning and watched a lot of Olympic highlights but haven't finished everything.
English Orals tomorrow and the release of Mother Tongue results! D:
But all I care about right now is the availability of my Angelus paints!

Bye :D

Pissa! on 08 August 2008 , 6:33 PM
:D
It's 08 08 08!
YAY!
Many good things happened today.
AND IT'S NATIONAL DAY TOMORROW. YAHOO /LMAO
OH AND OLYMPIC'S OFFICIAL OPENING DAY YAY!

First up was school.
We were scheduled to visit the SDC (Singapore Discovery Centre) once again this year.
Which makes it a total of 3 times (at the very least) we have visited the SDC in our secondary school course.

To me, the highlight of the visit was the SAFTI tour (or journey) in which the class will be taken to tour the OCS (Officer Cadet School) and some other places around SDC.
There was a war veteran commentating and sharing all his experiences with us, about how the National Service program has come a long way and how much it has changed since way back then.

It's always nice to know someone who has been through the World War period.
And that same person sharing his experience?
Not something that happens everyday. Awesome much!

After all the SDC events, part of the class went over to Chen Bin's place to party!
People, conversation, food and games.
It was pretty much a success!

I shall not elaborate too much.
Then I got home and had a good DotA game with Nicholas and Quincy.
Necrolyte still owns as much :)
We won and oh boy, it feels good, especially after a losing streak over the past few days.

It feels good! :D
