Punch! on 04 June 2008 , 9:31 PM
I went out with Kenneth to SAFRA this afternoon.
There were so many snooker tables but only two pool tables, both of which have been taken up.

When we arrived, I saw for the first time, the sheer size of the snooker tables.

Wow!

I didn't see how it was possible for an amateur to clock up his shots for a streak.
Without streaking, billiard is just pointless.
There will be little need of strategies if you're going to lose your streak at match point.
Besides, one game of snooker will take ages to complete.

But there's pool.
8 ball, 9 ball.
Which was what we intended to play.

Then me and Kenneth got the chance to play pool and we did.
We had our bit of fun and I got to win 3 out of 5 games against Kenneth.

A group of 6 teenagers, 14 to 16 year olds, came up to challenge us to a 'punch'.
This was also the same day I learned that 'punch' didn't mean physical contact.
'Punch' actually meant that the loser pays for the table.
What a weird name for this practice.

Some of them were friendly.
Kenneth won by sheer luck - the challenger pocketed the 8 ball illegally.
Kenneth was actually lagging behind by 6 balls, lol.

I lost to 3 people (who took turns to take their shots against me).
They got to a good start, 4 to nothing after breaking.
Then I had mine and eventually we were on par.
But the situation on the table was pretty bad for me so I couldn't take my shots and lost eventually.

I have to admit that these guys were pretty good.
But not all of them were friendly enough to concede or even offer a 'good game' after the match(es).
How disappointing.

Unfortunately, there is biology SPA (science practical assessment) tomorrow.
Which translates to no late night gaming but rather the time to mug.
